On the _Île de la Cité_ were the first walls of Paris.
Built between 308 and 360.
The wester part, was the palace.

Little is known.
It was probably built after the Vinkings’ siege from 885 to 887.

# Charles V
At some point, the right bank of Paris had two walls.

This wall was not a defensive, and its only function was to tax any goods
entering Paris.
It was highly impopular, and might be one of the triggers of the French
revolution.
